Executive Administrative Assistant to support a customer at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) agency in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The environment is dynamic, and the client needs are often evolving. Flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success. This is a hybrid position. The candidate will primarily work remotely from home but will need to come into the office whenever the executive is in town. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should be well-organized, have outstanding time management skills and be able to act without guidance.
You will contribute to the efficiency of our business by providing personalized and timely support to executive members.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the point of contact among executives, senior managers, employees, and other internal partners.
- Manage the executive’s schedule, coordinate meetings, develop travel information (agendas and guides), appointments, and events.
- Ensure that the executive’s time is optimized and that commitments align with priorities.
- Develop and maintain contact lists.
- Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner
- Track and maintain travel expenses.
- Format information for internal and external communication memos, emails, presentations, reports.
- Attend meetings and take minutes. Develop and submit meeting’s action items.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Previous work experience as an Executive Assistant, Senior-level Administrative Assistant, or a similar role
- Minimum education that consists of a high school diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Excellent MS Office knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent review and attention to detail skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, creative and willing to take work independently
- Familiarity with other office software applications
- Discretion and confidentiality
