The Compliance team is responsible for the successful launch of our custom cobrand credit cards in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Compliance in carrying out the daily operations needed to sustain a robust compliance program focused on consumer lending. This role can be based in SF in our Headquarters or remote. Experience working on compliance teams overseeing consumer lending products (ideally open-ended credit cards) and knowing the associated regulations, is a must!
The responsibilities
- Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of sound internal controls
- Support monitoring and testing program
- Leading initiatives and managing high-impact special project work streams with a results-driven focus to deliver solutions, including coordinating the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Assist with day to day compliance program tasks, such as handling ad-hoc investigations or complaints, including preparing submissions to regulators, and performing remediations
- Support compliance function through audits, examinations, and other procedures required by applicable regulatory frameworks
- Educate, train and advise employees
- Maintain and update compliance program policies, procedures and other documentation
- Review quality assurance information from our Customer Support team to perform trend analysis and inform bank reporting
- Support Compliance team in engaging with bank partner
- Collaborate with product, engineering, risk/credit and operations teams
The Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Consumer Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies, Regulation Z (TILA), ECOA/Regulation B, UDAAP, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)/Regulation V, and CAN SPAM
- Experience supporting Credit Cards or Lending Products
- 5+ years experience in financial regulatory compliance, ideally in a fintech or payments setting
- Proven experience as a compliance leader, and to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
$140,000 - $180,000 a yearCompensation This role has an annual starting salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits (see below). Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and specific work location.
