We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in observability, particularly with Datadog, to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our observability infrastructure to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our services. You will work closely with development, operations, and product teams to enhance our DevOps practices and deliver high-quality software.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain observability infrastructure using Datadog and other related tools.
- Identify and implement cost optimization measures to ensure efficient usage of observability tools and cloud resources.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and integration processes.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and improve development, testing, and release processes.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Ensure security best practices are followed throughout the development and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DevOps engineers and other team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our DevOps practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, with a focus on observability and monitoring.
- Extensive experience with Datadog for monitoring, logging, and performance metrics.
- Proficient with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of network and application security best practices.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying cloud infrastructure with AWS CDK and TypeScript.
- Experience configuring and deploying containers to AWS ECS Fargate.
