Today, when you go to your doctor and need to be referred to a specialist (e.g., for sleep apnea), your doctor sends a fax (yes, in 2024, 90% of provider-provider communication is a 1980s fax). These are often converted into 20+ page PDFs, with handwritten (doctor’s handwriting!) notes, in thousands of different formats. The problem is so complex that a person has to read it, type it up, and manually enter your information. Position Overview:
As the founding Product Designer you will be responsible for designing the user experience across the entire Tennr Platform. It will be a highly cross functional role, collaborating with post-sales, engineering and our customers. Mainly, you will be working directly 1:1 with product leadership, going from blank screen to great experience – doing both 0-1 work and improving and unifying the user experiences we already have. You will also be responsible for maintaining our design systems to drive consistency and ease development.
If you're someone with a technical background, (especially in React components!), you’ll be up to speed and delivering value even faster.
What you need to be good at:
Collaboration: You need to be one of the strongest cross-functional partners in the business, working with nearly every department in the business. You need to be constructive and excel at giving and receiving feedback in a constructive way.
Design execution: Master of design execution at every level. From wireframes to user journeys to prototypes. Maybe even help with the design of our branded collateral from time to time.
Brand and design systems: You’ll be developing and maintaining the Tennr design system. You will be one of the first roles responsible for creating a cohesive Tennr brand, this will require you to form a deep understanding of our value, voice and most importantly our customers.
Being a Customer Advocate: Deeply understand our customers and their pains. We are in a market where ugly hard to use software is the norm, Tennr needs to the new standard for excellent user experiences.
Participating in technical challenges: You will interact with our engineering team on technical constraints. Having an understanding of React components via Storybook will help you get up to speed quickly and make you more effective.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience
Proficiency in design tools, Figma preferred
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles
Experience with design systems and component-based design
Basic understanding of front-end technologies (React preferred)
Experience on founding technical teams is a (big) plus.
