We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Developerto work alongside our balanced agile delivery teams on highly complex DoD projects, specifically the development of command and control (C2) software. Hypergiant with its partners is building an innovative cloud-based command and control system that seamlessly integrates existing capabilities and provides automation that improves efficiency and effectiveness of mission planning and execution.
A perfect candidate is able to write high-quality code, integrate with partner capability providers, and ensure code and product quality. This position will work alongside our development team and other capability providers on highly complex DoD projects.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development of a React-based web application, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and design patterns
- Collaborate with developers, designers, project managers, product owners, and partner organizations
- Communicate tasking estimation and progress, managing client expectations within required timelines
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment, using an agile, iterative process
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality through effective testing strategies
- Optimize application performance and ensure seamless integration with backend systems, including databases and messaging systems
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of reusable component libraries and shared codebase
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and frameworks related to React, front-end development, and backend integration
Required Experience
- At least 10+ years of professional full stack web development experience (6+ with a STEM B.S.) with a focus on React (other JavaScript frameworks are a plus)
- Able to develop organized, accessible, and performant apps using JavaScript, advanced CSS, and HTML
- Able to develop complex and performant React applications; solid understanding of application architecture, and concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6
- Demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring & coaching development teams in an Agile environment (e.g., leading scrum and agile project management tools & ceremonies)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies (cloud architect or operations certification is a plus)
- Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git) and effective collaborative development workflows
- Experience managing robust build & test tools and implementing workflow automations (e.g., Jest, Rollup, Webpack, Babel)
- Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka)
- Penchant for learning new technologies, balanced with strong pragmatic thinking
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintaina US Security Clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience auditing third party dependencies in React ecosystem
- A portfolio of past projects with code samples or GitHub links
- Experience with CSS in JS solutions such as Styled Components or Emotion
- Familiarity with WebGL based libraries (e.g., ThreeJS, Deck.gl, Mapbox GL JS)
- Ability to make effective architecture decisions and document them clearly
- Design-minded attention to detail in user interface implementation
- Experience with state management libraries like Redux or React Context API
- Experience with TypeScript or other statically-typed languages.
- Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR) and isomorphic/universal JavaScript.
- Knowledge of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility techniques.

Salary Range
The salary range specified in each job posting outlines the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries applicable to the position across all US locations. Individual compensation within this range is influenced by various factors, such as job-related expertise, skills, experience, and pertinent education or training. It is important to recognize that the compensation information provided in US role postings pertains exclusively to the base salary and excludes considerations for bonuses, equity, or benefits.
Furthermore, an extra allowance may be awarded for roles necessitating an active US Security Clearance.
