Manual Machinist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location:
La Porte, TX 77571
Pay: $30-$40/hr DOEShift: 7am-3:30pm with OT as needed
Experience
- Must be able to operate manual Engine Lathes, VTLs, Knee Mills, and Radial Drills. Brand should not be a factor.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate metal parts according to specifications- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or other technical drawings to determine machining operations- Perform precision measurements using tools such as bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proficient in manual machining techniques, including turning, milling, and grinding- Knowledge of tooling selection and setup for different machining operations- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices- Experience working with plastics injection molding is a plus- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools- Familiarity with Fanuc control preferred.This position requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently.
