About the Position


As the Cloud Engineering team leader, you will be responsible for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Contrast Production services and the team that keeps them up and running. Your team is skilled in cloud-based infrastructure, Linux systems, automation, monitoring, and telemetry. We are searching for you who are skilled in operating such a team and have the technical abilities to architect and set future cloud strategy for us.You will work with the team to foster an environment of innovation and frequent minor changes to production systems.

You will collaborate with the team to build a process that benefits Cloud Engineering, its sister teams, and its larger stakeholder group.Ideal candidates understand the job of collaborating with a wider group to organize around problems, define outcomes, plan achievement, and execute. You know that failure is not an option; rather, it is a requirement, and you build safe spaces for the innovation and risk-taking necessary to learn quickly and iterate towards key outcomes.

Responsibilities


  • Operate a distributed high-performing team
  • Foster continued improvement in people, process, and product
  • Lead, coach, and support team in work definition and planning. You will function as the team’s product owner. You have technical ability to look ahead of the technical stacks and guide the team to stay current with the industry trend
  • Lead and coach the team in delivering the planned work, functioning as the team’s project manager
  • Relentlessly streamline the process to limit unplanned work. You are the key enabler for the constant reduction of toil
  • Facilitate team’s regular ceremonies. You will be your team's scrum master
  • Collaborate with peers and take the lead to assure stakeholder involvement and project outcomes.
  • Take a key role in incident response as an escalation point for command, communication, or scribing functions and continually improve the SRE program
  • Assume all human resource responsibilities for team members both full-time and contract
  • Manage cost and renewal associated with third-party tool

Qualifications


  • You engineer great teams.
  • You are transparent - especially when you have made a mistake
  • You operate through just enough processes and seek to scale your team through judicious trial and error of process interfaces from team to team
  • You look for trouble, define it, and manage it. You ask for help before you get in over your head
  • Your technical background is deep enough to facilitate conversations in the team and represent team interests outside the team
  • You understand the collaborative nature of development, security, and operations and seek to foster better inter-team communication at all levels
  • You don’t have all the answers, but you know how to ask questions that motivate high-performing individuals to collaborate to obtain them
  • You are familiar with a compliance framework like SOC 2
  • You have 8+ years in technology with at least five as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps, or SRE role. You have a solid understanding of Agile and DevOps best practices
  • You have at least two years of managing a high-performing team in a distributed environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

What We Offer


Salary and Other CompensationThis position's standard base pay range is $150,000 - $190,000 annually.
