The Instructional Designer position will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the LMS system, designing and developing instructional materials, and incorporating instructional design principles and technologies. Your expertise in curriculum development and instructional strategies will be crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality learning experiences across all verticals (retail, operations, sales, and corporate).
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
- Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
- Administer the organizations LMS system
- State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
- Maintain materials, SOPs, modules in the LMS to ensure up to date content
- Build working relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts
General
- Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain marijuana work credentials, if applicable
Education/Experience:
- 3+ years of training/instruction design related experience.
- BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar Client management or sales experience helpful
- Exceptional project management skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and writing skills.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Cannabis experience is desired.
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System (Cornerstone preferred)
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
- BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar preferred
