As a Senior Java Software Engineer at CTI, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects across desktop and distributed computing environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applications
  • Work effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversight
  • Provide and receive feedback in code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation that improve the stability, performance, and quality of the software
  • Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies

Requirements


Necessary skills and experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5 years of experience in programming, engineering, or related work
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Version control systems, such as Git
  • Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
  • Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
  • Proficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing
  • The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to travel at least one week per quarter

  • Proficiency in GUI development using Java Swing
  • Experience with NASA World Wind Java and/or OpenGL
  • Experience with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), Common Operational Picture (COP) platforms, and/or C5ISR platforms
