The Card Fraud & Risk Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex data sets to detect and mitigate known and emerging card fraud trends, along with maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evolving risks to ensure optimal fraud prevention. Coordinates the creation and implementation of card fraud and risk prevention strategies and processes based on current and historical fraud data and event analysis, to decline suspicious and fraudulent transactions, while minimizing impact on legitimate spend.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monitoring, mitigation, and prevention of card fraud
- Identify suspicious activities, determine fraud trends, and develop new strategies and processes that significantly reduce risk, leveraging knowledge of systems, tools, and best practices
- Partner with internal and third-party teams on the development, improvement, and implementation of risk management programs that protect the company, clients, and cardholders
- Analyze complex data sets to identify card fraud patterns and the development of actionable strategies to resolve risk
- Research and investigate historical card fraud cases and analyze multiple banking/processor systems to gather statistical data on card accounts
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including suggesting new fraud reports, defense strategies and tools, and recommended process improvements
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries regarding status and resolution of fraud issues
- Exercise exceptional communication skills in an effort to optimize each contact with external banking partners and third-party service providers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business degree or equivalent work experience in related field required
- Experience in fraud prevention with a focus on e-commerce and online transactions
- In-depth knowledge of fraud detection tools, technologies, and methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to evolving fraud tactics
- Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors and implementing effective vendor management practices
- Detail-oriented and performance-driven
- Advanced skills in standard PC programs with sophisticated level of skill in Microsoft Excel and SQL
- Certification in fraud prevention or related field preferred
