Pansophic Learning is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the national expansion of our K-12 public charter schools. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally talented individual with experience in a multi-subsidiary, high growth organization to fill this critical role. This position is responsible for all daily and monthly close accounting operations including the accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of multiple schools. We don’t sell widgets or provide consulting services – our mission is to help children around the world learn and succeed in life, and we have big plans to grow.**This role is based in our McLean, VA headquarters and operates on a hybrid work schedule**Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support all general ledger tasks including monthly close and journal entries for multiple ledgers
- Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple legal entities of sub ledgers/calculated schedules against ledger and assess for reasonableness of ending balances
- Lead revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and analysis
- Assist with preparation of financial statements
- Perform variance analyses for financial statements and explain fluctuations from month to month, year over year, and against plan
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations
- Identify possible efficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions
- Participation in implementing process improvements
- Support various Accounting projects
- Assist with Accounting onboarding of new acquisitions
- Assist in training junior staff
- Supervise two direct reports
- Ability to analyze and validate financial statements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ Years of accounting experience
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of and proficiency in an ERP system
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with all levels
- Ability to perform highly detailed work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated history of problem solving
- Ability to work both independently and within a team for a dynamic, growing company
