 AEM is seeking a proven Senior Product Designer who can lead overall user experience design across our software, web, and mobile applications, IoT and hardware interfaces.  The Senior Product Designer will proactively engage end users in target markets to understand their challenges, pain-points, decision workflows and criteria, and desired outcomes.  The ideal candidate will implement proven frameworks to understand and assess user experience through user-centric research, interviews, observations, and surveys, and then translate resulting end-user insights to design solutions that are delightful and elegant solutions.

The Senior Product Designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product to ensure a great user experience and iterate and improve upon it in accordance with user-testing.    

Job Responsibilities:


  • Identify and proactively engage target clients and personas to gain a deep understanding of the challenges they face, immersing in their environments to observe and ensure that our solutions address their critical needs. 
  • Translate cincepts and ideas into high quality solutions and positive client outcomes through customer journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences. 
  • Take a user-centered design approach and leverage rapid, low fidelity prototyping to iterate ideas and test hypotheses quickly and affordably. 
  • Enable the product vision by researching conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences. 
  • Summarize qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisions and devise elegant solutions. 
  • Formulate and implement a design system, including reusable components, standards, and guidelines that enable consistent and user-friendly products 
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features. 
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of UX/UI research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior. 
  • Perform tests on user interface elements such as Call to Actions (CTAs), layouts, target links, landing pages and banners. 
  • Build trust with end users by gathering and incorporating user feedback and usability testing results into the product design iterative process. 
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, asking smart questions, taking risks, and championing new ideas.

  • 5+ years of proven Product Designer experience or relevant roles. Degree in Human Computer Interaction & Technology a plus. 
  • Experience with user-centered design research methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD, Design Sprints and Agile methodologies. 
  • Strong portfolio featuring real-world examples of relevant work with a strong design sensibility. Evidence of applied user research techniques is necessary. 
  • 5+ years of experience with design and prototyping tools like Sketch, OmniGraffle, Figma, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus. 
  • Ability to work closely with customers to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet their needs and outcomes. 
  • Extensive experience in using UX/UI design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design. 
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and clients. 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate in a distributed team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implementations for approval. 
  • Be passionate about resolving user pain points and unlocking value through great design. 
  • Be passionate about all product design with a learning mindset regarding  design trends, technologies, and innovation.  
  • Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences 
  • Attention to detail and mastery of information design and adherence to design systems and style standards on fonts, colors, and images 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time

Additional Information: · This is a remote opportunity that can be done from anywhere in the continental United States and/or Canada · Must be eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.US Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability & 401k match of up to 3%. US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $80,000 - $135,000 per year.
