FS Investments is seeking a Business Analyst to support various investment systems to lead and assist in various projects and initiatives and be a driver for change and process improvement within the Technology team. The Business Analyst will be responsible for the development, configuration, documentation and support of internal applications and act as a liaison between investment management, operations and accounting to the technology team.The ideal candidate will have a background in financial services and will have experience supporting investment management platforms (e.g.
Advent Geneva, Bloomberg, etc.) to manage documentation requirements, performance testing and data analysis. The Business Analyst will be familiar with fund operations procedures such as trade support, shareholder pricing and data governance best practices.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Document business and technical requirements, analyze workflows, provide gap analysis and create process improvement plans.
- Support and management of business-line applications.
- Create and maintain project plans and status reports; follow up on issues; and ensure projects are on time and budget.
- Recommend and establish best practices around data management, process flows and reporting.
- Work with third party vendors and create strategic partnerships to ensure business needs are being met.
- Work with internal and external development teams on integration and custom solutions requested by the business.
- Provide end-user training on third party application sets.
- Keep current on business systems updates and offerings and attend conferences, seminars and training sessions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred (CFA, MBA, etc.).
- Minimum 3-5 years experience required.
- Financial services experience required. Fund operations, trade support, alternatives investment experience preferred.
- Experience with investment systems such as Bloomberg, Allvue Systems, S&P Global, EDM (fka IHS Markit) and SS&C Advent Geneva required.
- Project management experience required. Certification preferred.
- Experience documenting requirements and use cases, analyzing workflows and creating test plans.
- Understanding of database concepts and ability to query databases using SQL tools. Snowflake knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of reporting platforms and BI applications (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
- Knowledge of change management procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within organization.
- Must be able to work on-site in Philadelphia, PA.
