Job Description
Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology. Join us as an Sr. Architectural Technologist (Construction Administration) in Calgary Architectural Practice. This role will expose you to working drawings ranging from mixed use, commercial, and residential mid-rise (wood frame) and high-rise buildings.
You will be a part of the team that will support with design development, working drawings and detailing. The successful candidate will offer a robust portfolio of details and construction documents showing an array of projects and a holistic understanding of the design process. As the successful candidate, you will be an out-of-the-box thinker with a talent for developing creative detailing solutions. The successful candidate can work hybrid or a work-from-home office environment, but must be located within one hour from Calgary.

- Prepare working drawings on a number of different projects using Revit
- Prepare documentation - design development, building permits and tender packages
- Coordinate the architectural and engineering disciplines along with external consultants to produce high quality and well coordinated documents for construction.
- Review and comment of Contract Documents
- Review and comment of Specifications
- Review and comment of shop drawing submittals together with technical data sheet
- Site Review and Meeting coordination
- Reporting, Supplemental Instruction Contemplated Change Notice, Change Orders, review and issuance of Certificate for Payment
- Consultant coordination and liaison
- Office documentation
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in an architectural firm
- Diploma in Architectural Technology
- MUST be a proficient user of Revit and Microsoft Office software knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and experience in construction administration
- Experience working with mid-rise (wood frame) and high-rise projects
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Experience with project coordination and possess a strong ability to meet tight project deadlines
- Must submit a portfolio of work in PDF which is under 10MB or a web link to your portfolio site
