Summary
:Our Supply Chain and Operations team manages book production, inventory, and shipping logistics. We are looking for a highly detail-oriented print production specialist with knowledge of SOPs, procurement and book printing.  Reporting into our Director of SC&O, in this role you will own print production, source and manage vendors, identify cost-saving opportunities, and oversee quality control for book printing. What you will do…

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of print production, including scheduling, prepress, estimating, printing and binding for text and components. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing terms with book manufacturers, paper manufacturers, paper vendors, paper mills, and other suppliers. 
  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and oversee quality control, issues and resolutions. 
  • Use data to build a narrative and gain influence when appropriate. 
  • Build and maintain team trackers and status reports with accuracy in a timely manner. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate project details and help team prioritize rigorously. 

About you...

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years experience at a publisher working in print production and owning scheduling, prepress, estimating, make-readies, color correction, printing, binding, and special effects on 4-color print jobs. 
  • Experience building standard operating procedures and managing RFQs/RFPs with print manufacturers and paper suppliers. 
  • Knowledge in supply chain, procurement, quality, inventory planning and logistics.
  • Experience in eCommerce, consumer brands or product management is a plus.
  • Proactive decision-maker, leader and motivator.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Able to prioritize work effectively while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced environment and ready to work hard. 
  • Interested in commercial fiction and e-commerce. 

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000
