Job summary:
The employee serves as a technician for projects associated with the design, in-service engineering, installation, operation, and maintenance of assigned MK 57 equipment. Incumbent is responsible for a comprehensive program relative to the establishment and/or technical review of overall system design, operational performance, intra and inter weapon systems interfaces and ship support interfaces, technical data, and similar criteria involved in the integration of major sub-systems. As a specialist in the assigned systems, the technician provides design consultation and recommendations to responsible NSWC-PHD E60 Division.
Description:
Duties will be performed either as a team member including government employees or independently. Develops a plan for project accomplishment and breaks project into smaller tasks which may be personally performed or assigned to other engineers or technicians to result in timely accomplishment of the overall assignment. Projects may include MK 57 system troubleshooting, planning and reviewing system upgrades, providing logistics support and performing system and test evaluation.
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizen, Secret Clearance
- 12 years as a Fire Control Technician (NEC V31A) with experience in MK 57 NSSMS Mod
- 6 Years of shipboard experience
- No physical limitations to travel to, board, and perform assigned MK 57 duties while underway
- Experience in leading technical teams in troubleshooting and integration testing.
- Communication skills in briefing at all levels of the organization and be able to work with and foster a strong team environment.
- Analytical skills to effectively track, manage, and status multiple technical issues.
- Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-Service Engineering Assistance experience
- Afloat Fleet Training Support experience
- Test and Evaluation experience
- Reliability and Maintainability, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis ; familiarity with
- Modernization (ShipAlt, EC, Ordalt) and Configuration Management processes; familiarity with Lifecycle Support Documentation and associated processes
