JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Total Rewards is responsible to lead the development and implementation of a Total Rewards strategy that will support our objective to attract, reward and retain top talent. This role will be responsible for demonstrating thought leadership in the development of total rewards methodologies and approaches, leading the implementation of new projects and initiatives, and directing the service delivery of the compensation and benefits teams.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Provide leadership to and direct supervision of total rewards team members through effective coaching and performance management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Identify, develop, communicate, and administer a best-in-class reward programs, including compensation, benefits, and other reward strategies.
- Regularly evaluate Elligo’s suite of benefits to ensure they are competitive to attract and retain talent; implement and maintain programs that cost effective and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop and implement a communication strategy to ensure employees understand and value the company’s total rewards.
- Monitor the effectiveness of reward programs in achieving their stated objectives and make recommendations and implement changes that are cost-effective and consistent with market trends and corporate objectives.
- Lead the planning, communication, and implementation of the annual benefit open enrollment process.
- Implement leave policies in compliance with company policy, federal and state regulations; provide related management support and training.
- Ensure benefit support services, processes and systems are operating seamlessly to provide a five-star employee experience.
- Creatively design, develop and maintain Elligo’s compensation programs (such as merit process, promotions and equity adjustments, bonus plans, and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, etc.), policies, processes, and systems to ensure Elligo can attract, retain and reward high performing, high potential employees.
- Lead job evaluation, salary adjustment, market data assessment and salary structure maintenance to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices and structures that balance risk and reward; provide subject matter expertise to annual market adjustments to salary ranges and merit increase guidelines for the organization.
- Manage a fair and equitable compensation practice, ensuring that we are leveraging best practices to maintain an environment where all employees are compensated without adverse impact to any particular group; regularly report progress and make recommendations on all identified gaps to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with business leaders, HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to evaluate new positions and determine appropriate salary grade assignments; direct, review and approve new hire salary recommendations.
- Act as internal consultant on compensation issues for management staff, talent acquisition, and business line management; provide advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
- Create internal policies and processes to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations related to compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee the participation in salary and benefit surveys and monitor survey data to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.
- Regularly compile, prepare and present relevant and actionable data to support decision making.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Minimum 7 years’ experience related to compensation and benefit practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Administration or other related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
- Prior Human Resources experience preferred, including significant experience in the design and implementation of complex compensation and benefits programs
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing pay and benefits, including but not limited to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ADA, etc.
- Proven commitment to internal and external customer service
- Proven ability to lead through collaboration and positive interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and priorities
- Thoughtful and proactive problem-solving skills and communication, with demonstrated initiative to investigate process and project needs through collaborative research and analysis; ability to execute recommendations and action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively prepare and present complex information to all audiences.
- Proven understanding of HR practices and principles, including knowledge of applicable state and federal laws associated with the administration of compensation programs. Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (CCP, CBP, and/or SPHR) preferred.
- Experience selecting and managing external brokers/vendors and other key stakeholders
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work a minimum of 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
