Visit www.one.ai/careers for more information.Job SummaryThe MES Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining a manufacturing execution system (MES) required to support cell and pack production at Our Next Energy.
This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions while working with multiple manufacturing and IT/OT groups across the organization. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment. This position will require both on-site and remote support/development.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Architecting, implementing, and integrating solutions focused on tracking, analyzing, and improving the manufacturing process in regulated and non-regulated environments.
- Designing and implementing data management strategies for the integration of MES solutions with our ERP system, test platforms, and plant automation equipment that can be scaled with Our Next Energy manufacturing growth
- Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
- Drive requirement gathering with various stakeholders and establish MES requirements for present and future needs
- Develop architecture for the MES solution and write any custom software needed to connect elements of the MES system.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams comprised of manufacturing engineering, controls engineers, production engineer, facilities, and IT/OT support through all phases of MES development, implementation, and sustainment.
- Participate in concept and detailed design reviews for equipment and process development with respect to MES needs.
- Modify and adapt the MES system to the production and business needs of the organization.
- Assist manufacturing engineering in adapting the MES for the purpose of troubleshooting equipment problems and leading corrective actions to maintain uptime and product quality
- Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
- Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
- Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
- Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary including weekends and holidays if deemed
- Collaborate with equipment and automation teams to design and implement new manufacturing tools and equipment for battery production.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all process development and manufacturing activities.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in battery technology and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience) with minimum of 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing domain, working on MES implementations.
Qualifications and/or Experience
- Experience managing and developing databases (MS SQL, AzureSQL, Oracle, PostGRES)
- Experience developing in Inductive Automations Ignition MES/SCADA platform.
- Skilled in Python, JAVA, .NET, HTML5, SQL, VBA, etc.
- Hands-on experience in Python Scripting, Handling SQL queries and stored procedures, Ignition Historian, Reporting, Communication / Network Protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Serial, etc.)
- Knowledge / working experience in MQTT
- Understanding of tag-based databases and communication
- Experience with OPC servers and communication (Ignition OPC, Kepware, DeviceWISE)
- Experience integrating with test systems such as Bauer
- Digital Factory Experience, specifically developing cloud-based solutions for MES reporting and dashboards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business unit and third-party vendor partners at different levels of the organization.
- Controls experience (Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, Windows Server, Linux, Unix
