Overview:
WiredPeople invites applicants to join our growing team as a Public Health Program Manager to assist with support activities for multiple electronic information systems. The initial focus for this position will be the ShowMe WorldCare (SMWC) implementation. SMWC is a comprehensive reportable conditions surveillance/registry, contact tracing, outbreak tracking, and case management system that will replace three current applications (WebSurv, EpiTrax, and EnvSurv). Successful candidates must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing to diverse individuals with widely varying levels of technical skills.
This position will work onsite in Jefferson, Missouri.
This is a professional public health program position that manages specific activities supporting the planning, design, development, testing, piloting, rollout, implementation, and operational phases of a specific component within a large health program. Employees have supervisory responsibilities over professional staff and have input into setting a budget (e.g., HIV prevention training as a component of the state HIV program). Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.
Job Duties:
- Scheduling and otherwise coordinating onsite trainings throughout Missouri to educate state and local public health agency staff as well as data submitters on the use of SMWC and other electronic information systems.
- Scheduling and otherwise coordinating additional virtual trainings on the use of SMWC and other electronic information systems for state and local public health agency staff as needed, as well as trainings for data submitters.
- Leading the Data Modernization Support Team to develop a variety of training materials for live trainings, virtual trainings, posting on the website, and other situations as needed, in collaboration with the BDMI Interoperability Manager and other subject matter experts.
- Creating, or collaborating with training staff to create, virtual training modules as needed. Training modules must allow tracking of completion. Tasks may be delegated to PHP Supervisors or Specialists.
- Scheduling and arranging staffing for manned office hours in a virtual format for end users to ask questions and receive assistance on use of the system.
- Establishing processes and managing staffing for a help desk to support SMWC and other system end users and portal data submitters.
- Overseeing help desk activities including configuring accounts for new users, resetting passwords, answering basic system questions, triaging more complex questions to subject matter experts, etc.
- Tracking metrics related to training and help desk activities and providing daily updates to the BDMI Interoperability Manager or other appropriate leadership.

- Ability to utilize own transportation to travel to offices and training locations throughout Missouri Ability to cover travel expenses up front until reimbursement is received from the hiring agency, unless other arrangements are made with the hiring agency.
- Ability to meet with staff virtually and in person as requested
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Ability to lead, manage and train a team consisting of 3 PHP Supervisors each supervising 3 PHP Specialists.
- Ability to apply project management principles in order to schedule training/support services.
- Ability to develop processes for the team’s activities and perform quality improvement activities to continually enhance customer service.
- Ability to develop and track metrics related to team activities.
- Ability to work in a transparent manner in collaboration with the Interoperability Manager for the ShowMe WorldCare project or other managers working on other projects.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
- Ability to develop training support materials such as PowerPoint presentations, guidance documents (e.g., training manuals, tip sheets), and online modules.
- Basic understanding of public health practice related to communicable and environmental conditions, surveillance, and informatics.
- Knowledge of the organization and operation of public agencies at the national, state, and local level.
- Knowledge and skill to perform and review the work overseen.
- Ability to develop, implement, and administer assigned programs and/or services to achieve positive program outcomes.
