MicroHealth is seeking a
Safety Engineer to join our team and project in
Orlando, FL.
This role is a Part-Time on-site role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing safety reviews and assessments with personnel experienced in safety.
- Ensure system design incorporates guidelines established in MIL-STD-882.
- Achieve safety in design and ensure all system-specific safety requirements are met, including verifying any changes due to design or baseline changes.
- Verify the safe design of the system and determine the safety risk assumed prior to installation, testing, and operation.
- Develop and implement tasks and activities to identify, evaluate, and eliminate or control hazards throughout the system life cycle.
- Ensure the safety of the system design, operation, transportation, maintenance, support, and disposal.
- Conduct safety analyses, hazard identification and classification, and hazard tracking integral to the system design effort.
- Present all safety considerations and mitigations at various program management meetings (IPTs, TIMs, TRR, etc.).
- Show examples of how the safety assessment was conducted and have documented assessments, safety checklists, safety reports, or safety research presented to the government.
Additional Safety Requirements:
- Place an instructional sticker depicting that the panic button is pull-out as intuitively most buttons are push-in to activate.
- Conduct a general assessment to include intermittent, continuous, and impulse noise measurements per Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and DoD Standards, guidelines, and regulations to determine if a safety warning, including hearing protection, is required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee may lift or move objects up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 5 pounds.
