Special Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and/or other leading Agile management software
  • Agile ceremony facilitation
  • Business analysis experience

The Gist


The Scrum Master will work closely with Technical Leads and Product Owners to facilitate one or more agile teams, manage the execution of projects, and establish a shared product vision across each team.The ideal Scrum Master dives into customer mission understanding and proactively learns the vision and opportunity to modernize the government. He/she brings out transparency and honesty from Agile teams. He/she elicits truly what is holding someone back from completing work, where there may be stagnation or a lack of commitment within the team.

What Your Day Might Include


  • Facilitate working session meetings to discuss scope, schedule and requirements with product owners.
  • Help Product Owner with prioritization, risk management and scope.
  • Manage product quality, releases & delivery; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Conduct all scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • Perform continuous and active backlog grooming.
  • Calculate ongoing team capacity and velocity.
  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.
  • Support managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and help to implement an effective system of project governance.
  •  Act as a mentor and coach, to ensure development teams work toward the core scrum principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban, supporting Agile efforts
  • Coaching, leading, facilitating meetings, holding the team accountable, being accountable for the process and the product
  • Providing servant leadership style support to team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience participating in a high performing, highly engaged and motivated team
  • Solid experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach
  • Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter
