Through a proven portfolio of proprietary technological solutions, Anaergia maximizes the generation of renewable energy, diversion of waste from landfill and reduction of greenhouse gases for customers across the municipal, industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors.SUMMARY OF THE POSITIONReporting to the Divisional Controller, the Accounting Manager works closely with the project managers, accounts payable and accounts receivable to prepare monthly revenue percentage of completion calculations, workpapers and summaries for North American contracts, including IFRS 15 checklists.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Works collaboratively with project managers monthly to determine accruals and forecasted costs for purposes of applying the percentage of completion of revenue recognition calculations for construction projects.
- Reviews and approves journal entries related to accounts payable and accounts receivable for percentage of completion projects.
- Prepares and reviews the monthly reconciliation of the general ledger, related contract assets, liabilities, deferred and accrued expenses attributable to the percentage of completion contracts.
- Assists with inter-company reconciliation of costs within the percentage of completion projects across regions.
- Assists with the monthly accounting related to ad hoc engineering services provided to customers in the Region.
- Prepares and reviews with month-end, quarter end & year-end close and audit requirements.
- This role will have 2 direct reports.
WHAT YOU BRING:Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Must have 2-3 years of public accounting experience in audit
- Must have 3-4 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Experience with US GAAP & IFRS Application of new accounting standards preferred (e.g., revenue recognition, leases)
- Experience in the construction and/or renewable energy industries preferred
- CPA/CPA-candidate preferred

- Advanced skills in Excel. Strongly proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint; Experience with Microsoft D365 a plus
