The Technical Business Analyst (Business Analyst III) will be responsible for strategic design and mapping of business requirements and solutions to system/technical requirements. In this role, you will work with product owners, technical product managers, technical architects, developers, testers and stakeholders to help define and organize business and technical requirements for the Exchange team’s complex data ingestion and processing requirements. This involves interviewing key stakeholders to help refine and maintain requirements and keep product documentation current. Product documentation can also include data mapping spreadsheets and scenario based information.
The Business Analyst is an important part of the Exchange Leadership team, who we rely on to help us channel and intake requirements from multiple input streams. Ideally the Technical Business Analyst is engaged in best practice development initiatives, provides thoughtful leadership, and familiarity with proven SDLC processes within a Agile/Scrum methodology.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and defining and implementing solutions
- Perform requirement analysis. Work with Product to understand their vision, and help craft that vision to ensure customer satisfaction and technical feasibility.
- Lead multiple business partners and connect with them effectively and promptly
- Flexible enough to work with offshore times in order to set up meetings with offshore technical teams
- Effectively communicate insights and plans to multi-functional team members and management
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and partners throughout the project and build requirements
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
- Gather critical information from meetings with various partners to produce useful reports
- Work closely with internal customers, external IT teams and Sr. Management partners.
- Serve as a liaison between TPM and Development/Testing teams, onshore and offshore
- Perform user acceptance testing and functional demonstrations
- Work with the software development manager and project leads to devise project plans
- Aid in prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements
- Identify the dependencies between the projects /business area and prioritize the work accordingly
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and suggest optimization strategies
- Stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
Agile Process Responsibilities
- When needed, work with team members and partners on feature and story refinement processes which can include sizing, elaborating acceptance criteria and descriptions for user stories
- Champion a definition of ready and Done for team stories
- Help identify process challenges, including but not limited to teams that are over tasked, under tasked, or lack adequate leadership in technical areas.
- Assist testing activities and champion best practices in the refinement of Feature and User Story acceptance tests
- Perform User story acceptance by testing, participating in demos or reviewing screen shots/ videos
- Can act in Scrum Master/PM role as resource constraints and workload leveling require, but is not a core responsibility.
