A3 Technology, Inc. is actively searching for a highly experienced senior level Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team based in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead software/adaptation analysis, design/development, testing and seamless system integration for our prestigious Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. Your expertise will encompass a wide array of functional areas, including real-time design, development, testing and interfacing of software and computer hardware systems. We seek someone with a proven track record of comprehensive software development skills and hands-on experience with programming languages specifically tailored for National Airspace Systems (NAS) and NAS support systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work specifically with the TFDM Software Development Team using C/C++, Java, XML, Javascript, shell scripting, database concepts (Postgres and/or Oracle), GIS Tools, Red Hat Linux, Ada, Redmine, Git and various homegrown tools. TFDM Lab assignments and Data Collection is essential.
- Perform Data collection, Software Installations and Workstation Backups.
- Perform adaptation/software analysis and implement code fixes, adaptation changes and new functionality.
- Perform peer/code reviews.
- Ability to work individually and within a group/team.
- Ability to take direction and initiative; ability to provide direction and training.
- Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
- Limited (25% or less) travel to locations throughout the US.
- Desk/lab located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required:
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with knowledge in C/C++, Java, XML, Shell Scripting, Java Script, Database Concepts and UNIX/LINUX. Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Preferred:
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with the required knowledge plus Ada, Perl Scripting, Python, Geographic Information System (GIS) Tools and Red Hat Linux.
- In addition, experience in TFDM/STARS/NAS, Test, Redmine (or another project management tool), Git (or another configuration management tool) and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with the required and preferred knowledge plus experience in HTML/XHTML, QT, JSON and SQL is a bonus.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with 25 years of related work experience in the specific engineering principle OR
- Master's degree in Engineering with 20 years related work experience in the specific engineering principle OR
- PHD or Doctoral with 12 years' work experience in the specific engineering principle.
Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must.
