There's no limit to what you can accomplish here.The Solution Engineer is a critical role in our growth and the successful candidate will function as the subject matter expert and responsible for driving sales revenue across the technology portfolio for all existing and new AppDirect advisors.
Being fanatically obsessed with the advisor experience, you will be responsible for delivering an impactful experience for new advisors that are part of our continued organic growth. The successful candidate will have a track record of success supporting a sales effort as a pre-sale technical SME and resource, delivering the highest levels of customer and partner satisfaction, and will have a deep background in the agent channel and channel engagement. Personal skill sets that support team building, driving collaboration across multiple team members, advisors and vendors would be a must have for this position.
What you'll do and how you'll have an impact:
The Solution Engineer is an advisor/customer facing position supporting new and existing advisors to drive sales and new revenue. Best candidate for this position will have a history of success in technology solution sales in the channel and be highly effective leveraging existing, building new and maintaining relationships with advisors and solution vendors. The Solution Engineer will be a SME in technology in the AppDirect portfolio, such as: SASE, Cloud/Data Center solutions, Cybersecurity, IoT, AI and other technology as a service solutions and business drivers behind their adoption.
This role will focus on sales opportunities and knowledge development, as well as, developing strategic technology roadmaps for advisors. The most successful candidate has a strong history of pre-sale technical support, solution selling, technical and business aptitude and is interested in current technology trends. This individual is eager to work as a direct overlay to the Channel Sales Team along with other Sales Specialists in complementary solution sets.
- Assist sales team with overall advisor development as it relates to technical aspects of growing the advisor core competencies and sales of the AppDirect portfolio.
- Build strong relationships with the technical and sales resources from vendors with the emphasis of engaging those resources to help drive advisor growth.
- Working with the sales team, advisors, and vendors you’ll manage the technical sales cycle to ensure new business opportunities come to fruition and generate revenue for AppDirect
- Conduct customer and/or advisor facing presentations on technologies, vendors, solutions, training, partner development
- An ability to rapidly understand and translate clients’ business challenges and concerns into a solution-oriented discussion
- Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry trends and product knowledge.
- Set priorities and schedules to meet established goals; meet commitments consistently
- Meet activity performance goals, including weekly reports by opportunity. Prepare reports and communicate a monthly summary of wins, losses, inhibitors, and net-new opportunities.
What we're looking for:
- Full understanding of the Solution/Sales Engineer overlay role
- Strong technical knowledge in SASE, Cybersecurity, Data Center/Cloud services
- Fundamental understanding of Connectivity, UCaaS, and SaaS
- Team player with strong collaboration skills

- 30% Travel required
- 8+ years success in technical Solution/Sales Engineering role.
- TSD/ Agent Channel experience and success highly preferred
- Passionate about Digital Transformation and Business Technology solutions
- Have business savvy and understanding of the drivers, trends and other factors that influence technology decisions today
- A positive attitude. Regardless of the circumstances; you take ownership and focus on achieving the best outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
