Job Summary:

 The Sales and Marketing Analyst will collect and examine internal company data and evaluate industry trends to help optimize sales strategies, recommend, and execute lead generation approaches, and monitor and measure sales and marketing effectiveness. The analyst will also coordinate with the sales team to process transactions and ensure efficient customer response times.
Working closely with both the Commercial Sales and Marketing Teams, this role will be an integral part of identifying new customers in need of sustainability-oriented environmental products such as carbon offsets and growing our market share. A blend of analytical, communication, and technical skills are required along with strong data analysis skills for interpreting sales data and generating valuable insights. Attention to detail problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of sales processes and strategies are also vital for success in this role.

Additionally, adaptability and a customer-focused mindset are valuable traits for understanding market dynamics and customer behavior.

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:


  • Conduct research and develop strategies to improve sales productivity and engagement for key audiences including current customers, new customers, media, and influencers
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points to recommend improvements
  • Optimize all sales and marketing technologies used to implement programs including NetSuite Customer Relationship Management tool
  • Assist sales team in moving transactions through internal processes from inception to delivery
  • Gather market intel from online sources including media outlets, public databases, reports, and internal information to inform sales and marketing strategies
  • Generate and manage targeted buyer outreach campaigns coordinating with both Sales and Marketing teams and evaluate marketing data and performance metrics for continuous improvement
  • Use marketing analytics platforms to measure the effectiveness of email marketing, lead generation and nurturing strategies, SEO/SEM, digital advertising, and social media marketing
  • Build and maintain media contact lists and track media mentions

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:


  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, or a similar field
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing complex data (preferred) in carbon or other environmental markets preferred
  • Proficiency with data analysis and productivity tools, including NetSuite CRM, Google analytics, email marketing, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills combined with data-driven thinking and Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize workload, excel in research and creativity and have exceptional analytical skills
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues both in person and remote

  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals; listens carefully and understands various points of view; truly values people
  • Work Location: Ideally Grand Rapids, MI or North Lake Tahoe, CA, but will also consider San Diego, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT.
