Barbaricum is seeking an experienced AI/ML Data Scientist to support the development and integration of advanced AI/ML models within a CENTCOM client's architecture and framework at CENTCOM's headquarters on MacDill AFB. This program's effort aims to deliver cutting-edge algorithms for predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, forecasting, and free text query capabilities in an AI/ML Decision Support Tool.
Responsibilities
- Build AI models using machine learning algorithms and deep learning neural networks.
- Integrate models with the Command Common Operating Picture data repository to enable real-time decision-making for logisticians.
- Provide visual displays of advanced analytic data on geographic models/maps and dashboards.
- Support free text query capabilities within the AI/ML tool.
- Develop specialized AI models that correlate various logistics datasets to meet desired objectives.
- Build predictive models using vast volumes of data, leveraging machine learning and deep learning algorithms and frameworks.
- Ensure AI/ML workflows include Cyber, Knowledge, and Information Management disciplines to support the Decision-Making Process.
- Build data ingestion and transformation infrastructure to interface with data repository APIs.
- Develop AI/ML models to enterprise standards for data sharing with joint enterprise systems.
Qualifications
- Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a highly quantitative field. A Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, or Mathematics) may replace 4 years’ experience.
- At least 8 years of military experience.
- Practical experience conducting the basic steps of creating machine learning algorithms and models to include data collection, preparation, feature engineering, model training, model evaluation, tuning, and predictive analysis.
- Expert knowledge of data visualization both using native code (Python/R) and off-the-shelf data visualization platforms like PowerBi, Tableau for quantitative analysis, and geospatial analytical platforms like ArcGIS/ESRI, Palantir, FADE/MIST, etc...
- Intermediate level of expertise in a scripting or object-oriented language to allow execution of sophisticated data manipulation and conditioning in preparation for model building. Coding experience should also include ability to create small scale web-applications to allow user interface with AI/ML models and services created.
- Experience with building predictive models using vast volumes of data and have indepth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning algorithms and framework such as Support Vector Machines, K-Nearest Neighbor, or Principal Component Analysis.
- Experience either creating through code or using off-the-shelf ML Operations platforms (like Amazon Sagemaker, Databricks, or Google's Vertex AI) programs that facilitate the creation, training, deployment and monitoring of ML Models in order to operationalize the models into tools used by the warfighter for decision making.
- Experience can serve as a substitute for education.
- Sound understanding of programming, software engineering, and data science.
- In-depth knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms and frameworks.
- Ability to work with Command Staff to integrate AI/ML workflows across various disciplines.
