Sol Systems is seeking a Manager of Shared Services to join our Accounting team. This role will support the Director of Corporate Accounting, supervise the Shared Services team and provide high quality support to our internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will posses strong interpersonal skills and the initiative to drive action.

The Manager of Shared Services will be responsible for:


  • Supervising the Shared Services team and functions, ensuring performance standards are met while maintaining compliance with company policies and associated approval workflows. Functional responsibilities include:
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Travel and Expense Policy
  • Commercial Credit Cards
  • Treasury Management
  • Working closely with other members of the accounting team to support day-to-day business functions
  • Managing and providing guidance on the annual 1099 process and unclaimed property
  • Ownership of the AP automation tool while monitoring system performance
  • Evaluating and creating process efficiencies to optimize our use of available systems and technologies
  • Supporting Corporate Accounting and Human Resources with payroll related activities
  • Supporting and/or leading periodic special projects
  • Managing banking relationships and Treasury operations
  • This role will also have the opportunity to work in other areas identified as important for building the team and our business

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:


  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Renewable/Solar energy industry experience 
  • Ability to prioritize a large task load in a fast-paced environment
  • Task and goal oriented
  • Self-Starter, hands-on, with careful attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Location & Hours: 

This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office. 

Commitment & Compensation:

 Compensation will be commensurate with experience. In addition, Sol Systems provides health insurance, retirement benefits, partial gym reimbursement, transportation benefits, education benefits, paid vacation and federal holidays, plus the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
