Role Mission:

As Senior Accountant working for Rhodes you will be responsible for preparing financial statements of several companies. You will support leaders in the Finance department with carrying out responsibilities related to various accounting tasks, preparing schedules, reconciliations, and reporting. You are part of the finance team and have an exciting opportunity to support the accomplishment of our organizational purpose to build communities and enhance lives of our customers and team.  

Measured Performance Goals:


  • % Financial Statements Accuracy
  • # Days Completion for Monthly Reconciliations
  • % Complete/Timely Monthly Department Budget Reporting
  • # of Days for Financial Close
  • % Accuracy of Cash Flow projections

Accountabilities:


  • Update general ledger and book Journal Entries in the accounting system
  • Prepare accounting reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Create financial supporting schedules
  • Actively participate in the month-end process and preparation of Financial Statements
  • Prepare Fixed Asset schedules and depreciation tables
  • Create and maintain pre-paid schedules and the related amortizations
  • Prepare yearly budgets for assigned companies
  • Prepare monthly actual vs. budget financial statement comparisons and explanations
  • Book adjusting or reclassifying Journal Entries as needed
  • Update Chart of Accounts and document changes
  • Reconcile sub-ledger account balances
  • Assist in the yearly risk-assessment and implementation of internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls best practices
  • Participate in the preparation of Quarterly Forecasts
  • Prepare GL coding of monthly accruals
  • Contribute to team effort as needed
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • At least 5 years of full accounting cycle and month-end process
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Good understanding and experience in Cost Accounting (Job cost)
  • Experience with general ledger review and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of Internal Controls policies and procedures
  • Experience supervising one or more direct reports
  • High level of understanding of Balance Sheet and Income Statements
  • Excellent accounting software skills
  • Knowledge of Integrated Accounting software
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong in communication skills
  • Highly organized and deadline driven
  • Understand the need to be flexible and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
