POSITION SUMMARY:


This position is tasked with providing logistical and analytical support to the Ethanol Trading Desk by managing and coordinating resources to ensure effective and efficient operations. The Scheduler plays a crucial role in optimizing productivity, facilitating smooth workflow, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities of this position are of high time sensitivity, requiring demonstrated resilience, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the BioUrja Trading team by facilitating the day-to-day transport of ethanol via truck, rail, barge and other modes of transportation to our customers across the country, including and not limited to coordinating with logistics service providers, carriers, and other counterparties 
  • Manage inventories across different storage locations to help with allocation of resources and balancing supply versus demand 
  • Handle documentation necessary to facilitate the physical movement of ethanol, including export paperwork and various bills of lading 
  • Assist ethanol plants with forecasting demand and up-to-date projections to determine efficient operations, working closely to optimize production 
  • Resolve disputes, claims and complaints from counterparties, and assist the supporting BioUrja Trading departments in accounting and contractual issues 
  • Analyze trends in demand, transit, dwell, prices etc. to identify bottlenecks and proactively take measures to address them, including cost and freight optimization 
  • Participate in calculating demurrages for all modes of transportation for invoicing and collection purposes 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICIATIONS:


  • B.S. degree or 4 years equivalent industry work experience. Additional certifications or coursework in scheduling, administration, or a related field is a plus. 
  • Experience with plant operations and rail fleets a plus. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Excel required. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively. 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a customer-centric mindset. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to navigate through changing schedules and unexpected events. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team. 
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
