POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for providing oversight and leadership to the RCA team, identify staffing, training, and development needs, deliver training from both an on-boarding and cross- training perspective, ensure staffing models are accurate based on volume and productivity expectations, monitor productivity and ensures RCA staff members are executing processes to the highest efficiency levels possible. Provides education back to Tower teams based on quality output captured through daily DNFB reconciliation.
Performs randomized audits on RCA workflow, collaborates with: DRG Management team, Query writing team, and Final Coding Team.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains and implements policies and procedures; evaluates and improves the effectiveness of RCA workflow
- Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment
- Provides feedback at regular intervals throughout the year to discuss each staff members performance
- Performs yearly performance evaluations per Accuity SOP
- Meets with internal and external audiences to identify and problem solve operational workflow opportunities
- Coordinates work assignments of Revenue Cycle Analyst staff and adjusts as needed based on schedules, volumes, and access
- Monitors productivity levels and turn-around time. Assesses current RCA personnel productivity standards and develops a strategic plan to improve organizational effectiveness
- Contributes to improvement of quality and efficiency of revenue cycle analyst tasks and processes
- Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills against difficult due dates and timelines
- Analyzes internal quality reviews, makes recommendations for education, counseling, or termination for staff as appropriate.
- Review provisions for staff development, training, and orientations as prescribed by customers and any internal departmental standards
- Monitors backlogs for all customers and initiates action where necessary based on key performance indicators
- Identifies and implements improvement measures that will enhance overall quality as well as client satisfaction
- Demonstrates ability to bring projects/initiatives to completion on-time
- Participates in new client pilot tiger team initiatives as needed
- Provides coverage for clients where needed when staff members are out of the office
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or other related field(s) Required
- RHIT certification(s) Required RHIA, Preferred
Experience:
- 1+ years in a healthcare supervisory position
- 5+ years’ work experience in the Health Information Managements (HIM) field
- 5+ years Acute hospital mid revenue cycle management experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in group settings with various stakeholders, including executive leadership and client resources
- Advanced knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
- Demonstrated success working in a continuous quality improvement culture
- Exceptional communication, listening, coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of team members
- Extensive knowledge of operational revenue cycle management with EPIC experience preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Independent, focused individual able to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of oral presentation, communication, and coaching skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Including an initiative-taking disposition towards identifying problems and providing solutions.
