Summary/Objective


The Assistant Manager works closely with the Retail Store Manager to learn all aspects of running a store. As a member of our Management Team, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, achieving sales volume, adhering to Grunt’s visual presentation standards, and maximizing profits by controlling expenses and protecting company assets. The Assistant Store Manager will work with the Store Manager in providing guidance, direction, and development to the store team in order to achieve all revenue, profit, and customer service goals.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism to achieve sales performance goals and results. 
  • Has a clear understanding of how the retail business works and builds a winning sales culture.
  • Manages all employees in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales.
  • Supports proper channels of communication that exist between the store, supervisors, and corporate partners Operational Skills. 
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards 
  • Exercise judgment and discretion alone, and in conjunction with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store

Job Duties:


  • Complete sales including entry in computer system, accepting payments, giving change, bagging purchases.
  • Assist Store Manager with training and managing all employees in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales and minimize shrink. 
  • Coordinate merchandise replenishment and the flow of merchandise from the stock room to the sales floor.
  • Assist the store team in maintaining the store’s visual objectives and housekeeping standards by straightening merchandise and assisting in floor and fixture changes. 
  • Assist with Associate and Lead responsibilities as the workday may require. 
  • Train new employees and provide performance feedback to Store Manager
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints
  • Protect against loss by monitoring security, training staff, and maintaining security cameras
  • Maintain compliance with corporate communications by overseeing preparation of merchandise, displays and presentations. 
  • Reviewing staff job results and learning needs with retail Store Manager.

  • Strong leadership and employee management abilities. 
  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes
  • Ability to accept feedback and follow instructions
  • Computer and Tech savvy, use of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. 
  • Basic Admin skill: printing, scanning, etc. 
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written), including strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills and a proven sales track record
  • Ability to resolve conflict and negotiate with others
  • Ability to guide, direct, and motivate employees

Requirements

Required Education and Experience


  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory role.

Work Environment


This position is located at the assigned retail outlet. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printer/copiers.

  • Frequently required to communicate verbally and conduct conversation in person and on phone. 
  • Able to move through store, storage room, office 
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Frequently required to operate buttons and controls on computer and credit card machine
  • Repeated reaching, grasping, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds. 
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distinguish colors, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically low.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position. Hours will vary according to facility. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
