The Specific Role Where You Can Make a Difference?


Contango is seeking a Maintenance Technician at the Elk Basin field located near Powell, Wyoming. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and repairs in the Field, including maintenance of roads and well locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:


  • Troubleshoot equipment and execute the proper repairs to deliver safe and reliable operation of the equipment.
  • Maintain control systems, rebuild valves, piping connections, measurement equipment, flow meters, transmitters (pressure/flow/temp/Level), fire and gas, ESS, DCS, PSS).
  • Operate equipment to include grader and backhoe.
  • Take ownership for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and insurable driver's license.

Preferred Education, Training & Experience


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic competency in Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, Outlook

Working Conditions: 

  • 100% outdoor work in inclement weather including extreme heat and cold.
  • Travel on hazardous roads may be required.
  • Occasional overtime, holiday or on-call responsibility may be required.
  • Continuous work with and around industrial hazards.

Physical Demands:


  • Standing, Walking for extended periods of time 
  • Bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, climbing
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
