Harbor is seeking a temporary
Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our growing team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and maintaining records of transactions related to accounts payable. This role will work with the accounting team as well as other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. We are looking to start someone on a temporary, 3-month, contract with the intention to converting the role to a full-time employee. This is a 100% remote position based in Canada and will report directly to the AP Supervisor.
Your Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and process bills from vendors, ensuring that they are accurate, complete, and have proper approval.
- Enter bills into the accounting system, ensuring proper allocation to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Ability to communicate with vendors to resolve any questions or issues that arise
- Ability to communicate with other employees to obtain necessary approvals
- Prepare payment proposals and perform payment allocations
- Reconcile vendor statements with accounts payable records to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update vendor files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Assist with monthly close and reconcile bank accounts as necessary
- Collaborate with the Accounting team and assist with other tasks as needed
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role
- Graduate in accounting or related field
- Experience with NetSuite or similar software is a plus
- Experience with Bill.com is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
- Ability to take initiative and work proactively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Deadline and performance driven
- Detail oriented, efficient, and accurate
