Our client, a prominent statewide non-profit organization with a mission of historic preservation, seeks an Accountant to join their high achieving team of professionals dedicated to their mission of rescuing endangered landmarks and restoring historic neighborhoods and downtowns.The Accountant serves the mission through strong organizational skills and the ability to remain flexible in an ever-changing environment. This position is the primary resource for recording cash receipt journal entries, preparing monthly general ledger account and bank reconciliations, tracking revenue and damage deposits for events, generating and recording invoices for leases and other services and preparation of compliance reports and materials.Your success will be defined by your ability to demonstrate superior customer service, proactively anticipate needs, track, generate, calculate, prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously.Expectations:

- Record cash receipt journal entries
- Prepare monthly general ledger account and bank reconciliations
- Track revenue and damage deposits for events
- Generate and record invoices for leases and other services
- Calculate and remit monthly state sales tax
- Assist in preparations for Board committee meetings
- Train as a back-up for payroll and accounts payable processing
- Assist with annual audit by preparing workpapers and responding to audit requests
- Assist with real estate transactions including tracking expenditures and restricted donations
- Assist with endowment fund tracking and reconciliations
- Train on front-desk responsibilities and fill-in when needed
- Prepare PCI compliance reports.
- Prepare NDT materials.You Are:
- Technology savvy with strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office systems
- Experienced with Financial Edge accounting system
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage several projects simultaneously
- Organized and have the ability to remain flexible to ever-changing logistics
- Superior demonstrating customer service to internal and external customers

- Professional and project a positive attitudeQualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Three to five years of experience in financial administration; nonprofit experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
- Proficient in Financial Edge accounting systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail
- Ability to interact with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence
