What You'll Do
The Lead Backend Software Engineer will lead a small team of engineers and technical consultants through designing, building, and maintaining high-quality technologysolutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience. We are looking for someone who can bring a level of energy, drive, and ownership to knock down barriers and get things done. As the Lead Backend Software Engineer, you will:
- Work with clients to design and develop backend technology
- Look at the bigger picture to understand how technology will fit within the client’s ecosystem and consider how the technology will impact people and processes
- Mentor and guide a small team of engineers and technical consultants to efficiently write quality code at pace
- Translate user stories and functional requirements into technical designs
- Design, build and maintain high quality technology solutions that deliver and exceptional customer experience
- Boost team velocity by developing and implementing quality code in line with Acceptance Criteria
- Estimate level of effort to complete user stories
- Create new features or parts of applications with end user in mind, providing the best experience
What You'll Bring
- 8-12 years of hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with Javascript and Node.js
- Experience developing software in AWS environment (S3, CloudFront, Route 53, Lambda, EC2/ELB, RDS)
- Experience leading a small team of engineers
- Consulting experience or experience owning a client relationship is needed
- Positive attitude and an ability to work well on an exciting project with client and Experient Group team members
- Maintain clean “code hygiene” and adhering to coding standards (formatting and documenting code, code merges with other engineer’s code)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for learning and a passion for solving business problems with technology
- Experience working with APIs
- Familiarity/experience with GIT
