Security Operations to oversee and enhance the security of our digital supply chain solutions. This role requires a professional who can adeptly manage both the technical and strategic aspects of security operations. The Sr. Maanger, Security Operations will play a critical role in shaping our security strategy and ensuring that our infrastructure is protected from cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Technical and Strategic Leadership (50/50): Provide a balanced approach to technical security management and strategic planning.
- Functional Program Leadership:
- Incident Response: Lead the incident response program to manage and mitigate security incidents with efficiency and effectiveness.
- Security Monitoring: Supervise the continuous monitoring of our IT environment to proactively detect and respond to security threats.
- Vulnerability Management: Oversee the vulnerability management process, including identification, assessment, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Phishing Tests: Implement phishing simulation tests to evaluate and improve organizational defenses against social engineering tactics.
- Security Awareness: Develop and maintain a security awareness program to educate employees on security best practices and threat prevention.
- Vendor and MSSP Management: Manage and evaluate relationships with technical security vendors, including our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) partner, ensuring they deliver quality security services in alignment with our security objectives.
- Team Management: Direct the Principal Security Engineer and Tier 1 Security Analysts, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of business operations.
- Policy Documentation: Ensure comprehensive security policy documentation is developed, maintained, and enforced.
- Security Strategy: Formulate and maintain a proactive security strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and adapts to the evolving threat landscape.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Regularly report on security metrics and performance indicators to the CISO and other stakeholders, providing insights into the effectiveness of the security posture and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Professional Certifications: Preferred certifications include GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), or GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), which demonstrate a deep technical understanding and leadership in information security.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in security operations, with substantial experience in managing an MSSP and a proven track record in incident response, security monitoring, and vulnerability management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. An advanced degree or additional certifications would be advantageous.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading mid to large-sized security teams, with a focus on professional development, performance management, and team-building.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successful collaboration with IT departments, executive management, and external partners.
- Risk Management: Expertise in both quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methodologies, with the ability to effectively communicate risk to stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
