What is the role?
dotCMS is a cloud-based Digital Experience platform that is changing how enterprises build, deliver, and consume digital environments or digital experiences. We seek an individual with expertise in SaaS and experience in AWS and either GCP or Azure.As Lead Cloud Engineer, you will join our dynamic team in handling tickets from customer support, managing escalations, and leading, mentoring, and training the team. You will oversee upgrades and act as the project manager for migrations. Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting on capacity and availability, ensuring thorough documentation, establishing procedures and standards, and maintaining familiarity with compliance requirements.We're proud to be 100% remote! dotCMS has been fully remote for over a decade, and as an employee, you may work remotely from any location in the US or Canada, compatible with Eastern Time business hours.

What you’ll bring to the team:
- Manage and resolve technical issues raised by customers, ensuring prompt and effective solutions.
- Address and resolve escalated issues, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to a team of 2 to 5 cloud engineers.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of system upgrades.
- Lead projects related to cloud migrations, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Monitor and report on system capacity and availability to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
- Develop and enforce procedures and standards to maintain system integrity and compliance.
Why we get excited about you:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud roles, working with AWS and either GCP or Azure.
- 2+ years of experience managing and leading teams.
- Proven experience in:
- SaaS and/or Web app hosting.
- Kubernetes/containerization expertise
- Relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Working with environments requiring compliance with standards like SOC2, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA
- Agile methodology and story writing
- Client-facing experience and excellent attention to detail, communication, and writing skills.
- A proactive attitude takes action quickly and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Additional desirable characteristics:
- Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure as code concepts.
- Understanding of GitOps practices for continuous deployment.
