Our client, Human Services, Inc, based in Columbus, Indiana is seeking a Health and Nutrition Manager to join their dedicated team. This role involves implementing comprehensive health and nutrition programs for infants and toddlers. You will also facilitate parent training and workshops on health, nutrition, and safety topics. Additionally, you will connect families with community resources tailored to their health needs, manage grants and funding, and ensure compliance with food program regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEALTH AND NUTRITION MANAGER:
- Manage Health & Nutrition initiatives across Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
- Provide leadership to Health & Nutrition Specialists and Cooks at various program locations.
- Collaborate to assess the health and nutrition status of each child.
- Work together to establish a reliable and ongoing source of medical and dental care.
- Evaluate sick children.
- Assist with the administration and storage of medications, ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
- Make home and site visits under the direction of the Supervisor.
- Collaborate with advocates and teachers to ensure all health needs are being communicated with the family.
- Work with family advocate and supervisors to set right health care plans in place and develop individual health care plan.
- Oversee and following USDA standards for food program,
- Manage grants and funding.
- Maintain compliance of programs.
- Supervise cooks and monitor purchase orders, compiling monthly USDA reports.
- Quickly comprehend the regulations guiding Head Start programming.
- Assist in trainings and workshops related to health, nutrition and safety.
- Make referrals to community agencies and resources.
- Assist in the implementation of all early childhood health services:
IDEAL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Health / Medical or related field
- Licensed RN preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training.
- Attention to detail, with accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Strong dependability, punctuality, flexibility, and excellent time management skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate with children, parents, community providers and staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to adapt and are capable of working effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
- Proficiency in computer operations.
- Willingness to travel to off-site meetings and between centers as needed.
- A valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
