The High Purity Process Specialty Gases Construction Manager will work within the Construction Management department and will report to MEP Project Manager. They will work closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex mechanical coordination issues. The Process High Purity Construction Manager will manage the Process Team and lead our onsite Process quality control efforts for large hi-tech projects. This position will be fully at the large semi-conductor manufacturing project site located in Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities
Oversee process piping subcontractor and vendor installation work daily to ensure they are maintaining their installation schedule and support system startup and commissioning activities.
Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating process and system startups.
Verify all documentation is complete, and ensure equipment being prepared for startup is construction complete and can safely be started.
Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
Organize and facilitate training of clients' personnel in the operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
Run startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, local utility agencies, and owners to coordinate/drive MEP system start up activities.
Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various MEP systems.
Receive and distribute requests for information (RFI) and change in scope documents issued by other team members.
Field survey of control lines and benchmarks.
Be the technical advisor at the onsite field construction office.
Assist in estimating process budgets and managing process team project staffing.
Secure process subcontractors and equipment buyout and manage process subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.
Required Qualifications
SKILLS
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction.
Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.
Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.
WORK EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years of process construction experience required.
Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
Education background in materials and methods of construction.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is preferred.
LEED Accredited Professional, or the ability to become accredited within eighteen (18) months preferred.

Lift/Carry: Must have the ability to lift or manipulate 50 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry or push it 50-100 feet.
Bending/Twisting: Frequent.
Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Must be able to regularly position self in a kneeling, crouching or crawling position for the purpose of examining project work.
Must use independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results.

The work effort is expected to be 50 hours or more. Compensation for this position is $50-66/hr. based on experience, background, and skills.
