Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and experienced IT Director to lead our IT department. The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing the company's information technology needs, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems, networks, software, and hardware. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to align IT initiatives with overall business objectives.The position will work with the Vice President in charge of IT along with corporate leadership to identify and implement IT strategies and practices that will support the success of our consultants.
This is a new position leading the IT department, which is currently comprised of 4 IT professionals, along with some outsourced services. The current IT professionals are located in Charlotte, NC, Cincinnati, OH, Durham, NC and Denver, CO and the corporate leadership based in the home office in Charlotte, NC. The company’s overall workforce is comprised of approximately 220 employees who work in approximately 15 locations (some offices, some co-working spaces) or remotely across the country and many of whom travel frequently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the IT team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company data and systems
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems including servers, PCs, operating systems, software applications and peripherals
- Manage network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless implementations
- Direct the configuration and maintenance of the company SharePoint sites
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess IT needs and system requirements, making recommendations for improvements and upgrades
- Develop and manage IT budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effective use of resources
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and software products to improve productivity and efficiency
- Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels and to make recommendations for improvement
- Partner with CFO and other leadership to manage cybersecurity risks and ensure ongoing practices are consistent with cyber-insurance requirements
- Maintain a high level of service for internal IT tickets submitted by employees
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in IT management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and projects
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as networking, security, databases, cloud technologies, and IT infrastructure
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a hybrid environment across multiple office locations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Windows Server, Windows 7 and 10, SharePoint, Office365, networking, user management, and general computer environment troubleshooting.
- Cybersecurity awareness
- Ability to travel up to once per quarter (depending on need/projects)
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint, and ArcGIS.
- Cybersecurity expertise
- Exposure to the consulting business

The salary range for the IT Director position is $110k to $150k. Compensation depends on education and experience. Employees in the position of IT Director may be eligible for an annual performance bonus, depending on the firm’s yearly performance and the performance of the employee. Such bonuses are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of the firm.
