Job Title: Program Manager
Location: New Orleans, LA (Hybrid)FLSA Status: Exempt, Salaried (Full-Time)Girls on the Run New Orleans is a dynamic and empowering organization dedicated to inspiring girls to recognize their limitless potential and boldly pursue their dreams. Girls on the Run teaches girls (3rd-8th grade) critical life skills needed for life success, through an experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates physical activity – thus combining social emotional learning, mental well-being, and physical activity.

In a typical year we program with over 4000 girls throughout 30-40 different sites/schools in our New Orleans community. Our program cultivates the positive benefits of physical activity and movement while, at the same time, consciously addressing harmful habits like negative self-talk, poor self-esteem and more that are prevalent among adolescent girls and detrimental to their mental health. Girls on the Run New Orleans is a 501(c)(3) organization and currently serves all of Jefferson & Orleans Parish.At Girls on the Run New Orleans, we believe in the transformative power of every girl.

You will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and lead our program operations, ensuring the highest quality of programming and positive impact on the lives of the girls we serve. The Program Manager is a full-time/exempt position and reports to the Executive Director. The Program Manager is responsible for managing all Girls on the Run New Orleans programs and coaching volunteers. Program Outreach and Site Management

  • Implement the Girls on the Run strategic program plan and collaborate with the team to achieve program goals
  • Develop marketing strategies and material to grow our networks
  • Work with community leaders, schools and other groups to maximize the success of programming
  • Support the needs of new and existing sites, conducting site visits to ensure quality program implementation
  • Enforce current site policies and procedures, implementing improvements as needed

Coach Management and Training

  • Develop effective coach recruitment and retention strategies that result in qualified volunteers that mirror the demographics of our community and girls served
  • Recruit and train coaches to ensure program fidelity and quality
  • Manage all aspects of coach training, including logistics and facilitation
  • Enforce current coaching policies and procedures, implementing improvements as needed
  • Support coach volunteers and design appreciation initiatives

Program Management

  • Manage administrative pieces of program implementation including program inventory, registration information, program evaluations and applications in Pinwheel.
  • Develop and track program budget with Executive Director.
  • Manage participant financial assistance policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with sites, coaches and families.

Organizational Support

  • Communicate program impact and upcoming events, identify and create volunteer opportunities, and more using relevant and branded content via GOTR New Orleans social media channels.
  • Play a key role at the fall and spring end-of-season 5K events.
  • Attend community events on behalf of the organization to raise awareness of the organization or in support of a community partnership.
  • Coordinate and attend organization events including site visits, prospective site or coach meetings, coach training, fundraisers and the Girls on the Run 5K events.

Qualifications Required

  • Passion for the mission of empowering girls and promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated comfort and experience working in team environments.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more, and to work outside in extreme temperatures.

BenefitsAnnual compensation range of $50,000 - $55,000, depending on experience. Life at Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.\n\nGirls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the parent organization of more than 200 Girls on the Run councils across the United States and Canada. GOTRI establishes, trains and supports a network of community-level councils with local volunteers. The volunteers serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 10-week, 20 lesson curricula. The curriculum is delivered in these areas through after-school programs, recreation centers and other non-profit settings.\n\nMission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.\n \nVision: We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
