Tensec is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to develop and architect our banking core platform, which encompasses technologies such as Real Time Payments, cryptocurrency/blockchain, Bank-as-a-service, OCR, Machine Learning, and more. You'll have a direct hand in shaping the trajectory of our startup, building the product from the ground up, and setting the technical direction for our future. Positions in our hubs are hybrid and include core working days of Tuesday and Wednesday in the office. We provide flexible work options based on distance from our hubs. Tensec believes in the power of face-to-face, personal connection. As a result, we prioritize in-person candidates.
As a software engineer, you would expect to:
Play a foundational role in system design, architecture, and development of our banking core platform.
Collaborate closely with the founding team to translate our vision into a tangible product.
Develop secure, clean, reliable, thoroughly tested, well-documented code across the backend tech stack, including the infrastructure.
Define and implement best practices and strategies regarding application development from scratch, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Prototype quickly but also focus on scalable and maintainable solutions.
Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve issues in our product environment to ensure our system runs securely and reliably.
Work with people across time zones and regions effectively.
Participate in all aspects of startup life: from strategy discussions to hands-on implementation.
To thrive in this role, you have:
5+ years of experience in software development, with hands-on expertise in end-to-end backend development, including API development and database design.
Proven experience with popular frameworks; Node.js or comparable is a plus.
Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
A technology and language stack-agnostic mindset with the versatility to quickly adapt and learn.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Passion for deep involvement in product development.
Strong empathy for our customers and a user-centric mindset and a fervent passion for elevating user experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse team and stakeholders.
Experience or strong desire to work in early-stage startup environments.
Prior fintech industry experience.
