Backbone is looking for a technical program manager (TPM). A TPM oversees and drives complex, cross-functional projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives. You will work with other members of Engineering, Data, Product, Design, Marketing, and many others to turn ideas into reality. You will be critical to driving delivery on initiatives that will provide the best experience to users who want to get the best mobile game controller.
You will help influence the product roadmap for all software initiatives. Help the engineering teams use modern technologies and drive the roadmap to ensure Backbone has a superb product. Enjoy your job at one of our offices in Seattle or the Bay area.

Responsibilities



  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery. Generate and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, risks, and issues.

  • Leverage technical expertise to make informed decisions and help guide the engineering team. Ensure that technical solutions meet quality standards and align with architectural guidelines and best practices.

  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders. Proactively address and resolve conflicts, obstacles, and dependencies that may impact project success.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications



  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development or engineering roles.

  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
