Role overview
We’re seeking a data champion to lead our Insights practice, developing our team, partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to evolve our understanding of our customers, product experience, and business performance. In parallel, the Insights Manager will drive improvements to access, reliability, and clarity of existing reporting, while evolving tools and processes to increase operational effectiveness.
What you’ll do
- Insights Operations
- Analyze and evolve team processes and tools for Insights projects and stakeholder requests with an eye toward improving efficiency and speed.
- Lead long-term planning, partnering with stakeholders to identify key initiatives and with the Insights team to organize the work.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to the Insights team to ensure high-quality output; provide long-term mentorship and coaching, fostering skills development and career growth for your team.
- Work with other internal stakeholders to manage our data and reporting infrastructure, identifying and implementing recommendations for improvements to stability, costs, and accessibility of data
- Harvest Data Governance
- Develop policies, processes, and standards that ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data across the organization to enable teams to work with confidence, knowing that they are leveraging accurate and reliable data to drive strategic initiatives.
- Analysis and Research
- Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of data from multiple sources to extract actionable insights and trends.
- Use statistical techniques and advanced analytical tools to uncover patterns, correlations, and opportunities within large datasets.
- Develop predictive models and forecasting methodologies to support strategic planning and resource allocation decisions.
- Executive Communication
- Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate key insights and recommendations to senior management in a clear and compelling manner.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives, offering data-driven perspectives on business opportunities, challenges, and trends.
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years of experience in working in the field of data science, quantitative analysis, or business intelligence.
- 5+ years working in SaaS or Marketplace businesses.
- 3+ years of experience in managing other team members in a formal or informal capacity.
- Strong experience in SQL and scripting languages (with a preference towards R and/or Python). Experience with dbt and cloud databases is a plus.
- Deep technical expertise in data architecture and predictive modeling; machine learning a plus.
- Experience initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicating complex ideas and data stories in clear, succinct, and actionable manner
- Demonstrated experience with, and understanding of, the relationship between data engineering, analytics engineering, and analysis.

At Harvest, our compensation consists of three main components:
- A competitive base pay: The salary for this role is $220,700. We aim to pay at the top of the market (informed by third-party data) for all roles
