Job Summary:


As an Experienced Attorney specializing in legal, compliance and risk management, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization, including legal, compliance, finance, and operations teams. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and guidance, develop effective risk management strategies, implement robust compliance programs, and safeguard our business from potential fraud and regulatory risks.

Responsibilities:



  • Review legal agreements, including funding agreements, and draft any applicable supporting documents. 

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to legal, compliance and risk management, especially new and emerging legislation and provide proactive guidance to senior management.

  • Develop, review, and enhance company policies, procedures, and compliance programs to ensure alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.

  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding compliance matters, risk assessments, and potential legal implications of business decisions. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and develop effective risk management strategies.

  • Conduct internal investigations to uncover and resolve instances of non-compliance ensuring appropriate actions are taken to address identified issues.

  • Advise on and assist in the implementation of internal controls, monitoring mechanisms, and auditing processes to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay informed about emerging legal and regulatory trends in the risk, compliance, fraud, and internal audit domains, and provide proactive guidance to senior management.

  • Work closely with external legal counsel, auditors, and regulatory authorities when necessary. Provide litigation support to external legal counsel and assist with management oversight of external legal counsel within your dedicated countries.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on risk management and, compliance protocols.

  • Support the legal team with other tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Law or relevant law degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Bar.

  • 2-5 years of experience as an attorney specializing in legal, compliance and risk Experience in both legal and compliance roles is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards related to legal, compliance and risk including but not limited to anti-money laundering (AML), data privacy, consumer protection, and securities laws.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective risk management strategies, compliance programs, and internal controls.

  • Proven ability to conduct internal investigations, assess legal and compliance risks, and develop appropriate action plans.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • An agile mindset and startup Experience in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or technology is a plus.
