Under the Director of Sales, the
Business Development Manager leads direction, identifies, evaluates, develops, manages and closes new business opportunities related to US Army, National Guard, Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency business areas. Conducts research and analyzes market activities and providing input to senior leadership in the implementation of strategic business objectives. This is a manager-level position involved in isolating and defining unknown conditions, resolving critical problems, and developing new theories.Altaeros is a rapidly growing team working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
We are looking for someone who is excited to jump into highly complex, multi-disciplinary projects and who can quickly come up to speed to begin driving decisions and adding value.
Within your first 6 months you will:
Strategic Capture - Participate in the entire business development process from market strategy and initial identification through proposal submission.
Relationship Management - Development and maintenance of strategic interpersonal relationships with key government customers, industry, academia, key consultants and Subject Matter Experts. Leverage these relationships to build win strategies, engage teammates, and garner SME support.
Data Management – Utilize HubSpot CRM to capture and document all relevant sales activity, contacts, opportunities, etc.
Capture Operations - Develop capture strategy for high-value opportunities across and within multiple state and federal agencies and foreign governments. Conduct capture operations including deep research, interviewing, formulation of early solutions, and test solution concepts on the customer prior to release of the Draft RFP.
Proposal Operations - Develop, lead, and execute proposal strategies. Work across technical, business development, and support functions across Altaeros to develop a winning bid strategy and proposal.
Marketing Support – Support the development and execution of marketing including attending conferences and developing marketing collateral.
Continuous Improvements - Continuously assess and recommend improvements to our growth processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
May require travel both domestically and internationally up to 35%.
Qualifications:
Specialized knowledge of business development theories, principles, and applications; thorough.
Knowledge of market analysis techniques and procedures.
Experience executing capture and winning acquisitions and task orders across multiple IDIQ’s and single award contracts.
Strong mastery of strategic capture with the ability to develop strong technical and management responses.
Experienced with a multitude of Capture contract types and pricing strategies to include Completion, Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Performance based, Cost Plus (CP), and Time & Materials (T&M).
Proven ability to derive strategic solutions and win themes against vaguely defined requirements.
Strong drive, initiative, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated versatility, leadership skills, and initiative to identify new business opportunities and move captures from initiation to proposal to transition required.
Proven ability to lead captures from $50M+.
Extensive experience developing and maintaining relationships with small and large business industry partners and developing strong teaming strategies.
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Desired Experience/Education/Training:
