SMX is seeking a skilled
Cloud Network & Computer Systems Architect to be part of our Information Technology Team supporting NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD. The Architect tasking includes operations, administration, maintenance, compliance, break/fix, activities for servers, appliances, storage devices on premise, in labs and in cloud environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide intermediate level IT Architect support for virtual and physical networks/computers/servers/appliances or other devices
- Design and implementation of cloud based data hosting solutions.
- Perform data network emulation/virtualization, analysis, and planning for cloud based solutions
- Analyze and design of cloud based systems and associated network and computer security measure implementation in accordance with the Cloud Service Offering levels and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 199
- Analyze systems, network, and cloud resource consumption and control user access
- Supports the design and implementation of on premise to cloud based migration strategies
- Has demonstrated knowledge of AWS GovCloud IL2, AWS GovCloud IL4, AWS GovCloud IL5, or AWS GovCloud IL6 environments or Microsoft Azure
Required Skills:
- Clearance Required: Top Secret, Interim TS to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Ability to maintain a Top Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
- Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.
- 3+ years of related IT experience required.
- Associate degree in related discipline
- Experience with Windows OS
- DoD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications-CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Desired Skills:
- Past DoD system architecture experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT field desired
