501336 Systems Engineer
Work Location: Huntsville, AL:Schedule: Full Time Relocation: Negotiable IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer, with experience in enterprise level systems architecture, to provide Systems Engineering technical services. In support of the customer at Redstone Arsenal, you will assist with the development of enterprise architecture and conduct systems engineering analysis that will facilitate system of systems integration across the Army and Joint Force working with the Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team.
Job Duties:
- Utilization of modeling and simulation tools to deliver objective insights to support strategic modernization decisions.
- Providing technical and programmatic guidance to the architecture and system level requirements process.
- Working across multiple organizations to identify and define future capability and interoperability needs.
- Identifying key architecture and system level trades
- Leading a system engineering team in collaboration and approval of engineering products through engineering reviews and engineering milestone events.
- Developing architectural framework using Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) for a large enterprise.
- Developing strategies in support of Department of Defense (DoD) architectures.
- Assessing the performance of current and future architecture concepts.
- Develop architecture models to capture the holistic view of the enterprise.
- Preparing briefings for senior decision makers.
Education and General Experience:
- Systems Engineer Degree, Bachelors and twelve (12) years or more experience; Masters and ten (10) years or more experience; PhD or JD and eight (8) years or more experience
- Practitioner of MBSE principles
- Proven experience with technical fundamentals in existing Army programs (e.g. ground vehicles, aviation, missile defense, long range fires/ artillery, Soldier systems).
- Preferred to have proven experience, exposure, and understanding with technical and operational fundamentals in Army Aviation programs.
- Experience working within the Army Aviation acquisition process.
- Experience working with Army Aviation capability developers.
- Expert-level proficiency with use of architecting to support senior level enterprise decision making.
- Expert-level proficiency with architecture tools.
- A working understanding of the JCIDS processes and Capability Based Assessments.
- Understands requirement generation and subsequent validation / verification.
- Familiarity and knowledge related to Army experimentation practices.
- Awareness and working knowledge of Army Science and Technology enterprise support to Army modernization.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of architecture products across the span of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), to include Project Views, Capability Views, Operational Views, System/Service Views, Standard Views and Data and Information Views.
- Familiar with and able to develop architecture artifacts using common modelling standards and languages (e.g. MagicDraw, Unified Profile for MODAF and DoDAF (UPDM) Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modelling Language (SysML) and Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN).
- Architecture domain understanding from a holistic enterprise perspective.
- Ability to recommend enterprise architecture tradeoffs, impacts, and advancement.
- Proven experience in development and use of modeling for architecture solutions.
- Expert-level understanding of core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes.
- Experience with lifecycle readiness from System Requirements Review through system decommissioning.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to brief programmatically, strategically, and technically to senior leadership.
- Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums.
- While performing performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance; TS/ SCI preferred
