Work Location: Huntsville, ALSchedule: Full TimeRelocation: Negotiable IMS is seeking a Software Development Engineer (with Radio Frequency knowledge and/or experience) to join our team developing and implementing digital signal processing of Ultra-Wide Bandwidth software defined radio systems. This position supports PEO Aviation, PM Aviation Mission Systems and Architecture (AMSA).
Responsibilities:
- This position requires a highly motivated individual with knowledge of digital signal processing and experience working with complex Radio Frequency systems across many different platforms.
- Generate software development roadmaps/strategies and cost estimates for Radio Frequency intensive systems.
- Capable of performing test and evaluation engineering of Radio Frequency systems
- Oversee and define requirements for software development activities associated with Radio Frequency signal collection and analysis.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and standards for use in Software Defined Radio systems.
- Perform countermeasures and vulnerability analysis for Radio Frequency systems.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting complex hardware/software intensive systems.
- Experience modeling and using modeling tools (using CAMEO)
- Support implementation and development of digital signal processing of Ultra-Wide Bandwidth software defined radio (SDR) systems utilizing open standards such as VITA 49.2 and SOSA and define guidance for future development and standardization.
- Experience developing technical reports and presentations; must have the ability to work independently and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or in an Engineering discipline.
- 5-10 years' experience
- GPU/GPGPU programming experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A field-programmable gate array development experience (Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language)
- Radio Frequency Systems of Chip (SoC) development experience
- Familiarity with VITA 49.2 or Modular Open Radio Frequency Architecture (MORA)
- Experience with design and/or testing of Radio Frequency devices and communication systems.
- Experience developing systems for military applications (e.g. avionics, GPS, Communications)
- Familiarity with communication protocols used in military Radio Frequency communication systems.
- Experience with developing countermeasures against Radio Frequency communications systems (jamming, spoofing, replay attacks, etc.)
- Familiarity working with test and measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with security features associated with Radio Frequency communication systems.
- Experience with airworthiness qualification of hardware and software avionics components.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
